For the past 14 years, I have taught and tutored elementary, middle, high school, and undergraduate students across the country. After studying at Columbia University, Brown University, and the University of Arkansas, I earned a B.A. with Honors as well as an M.F.A. (Masters of Fine Arts) in Creative Writing. I work with many families throughout the San Francisco Bay Area by helping students with their homework, essay writing, college applications, and test preparation (PSAT, SAT, ACT, etc.).
Homework Assistance: Using either student’s books as well as my original materials, I begin by reviewing a student’s current assignments, and then we review concepts that s/he is learning in class as well as prepare for upcoming quizzes, tests, or other assessments. Most of my students meet with me on a weekly or bi-weekly basis at their homes, public libraries, or cafes.
Essay Writing: As a previous writing tutor at a well-known university, I assist students with their writing process. We begin by brainstorming ideas, then work on composing an outline, crafting a rough draft, and finally, polishing the essay into a gorgeous final product. In addition, I have helped dozens of students with their college essays, and last year, several were accepted into top-ranked universities such as Duke, Stanford, MIT, Yale, and UC Berkeley.
Test Preparation: After training at Princeton Review, I have taught students in PSAT, SAT, and ACT for over four years. I have tutored over 250 hours and have mastered the techniques, methods, and strategies proven to increase overall scores.
